Our Story

In 2015, Barbie and I embarked on this Round The World (RTW) Flashpacking Journey.

“Going where the climate suits our clothes”.

We are traveling with 2 convertible backpacks and have not packed a single pair of pants (only shorts and flip flops)…….basically following the sun around the world and hitting every beach possible along the way.

I have always dreamed of an open ended, long term overseas trip.  Simply walking the world with no time constraints.  And, it has finally come to fruition.  To share this with Barbie, my long time girlfriend and best friend, was a dream come true.  We had a great love story in Las Vegas for 18 years.  I thought, why not create a new chapter in our life together, with different experiences, by simply getting ‘lost’ in far away countries spanning the world.

In order to achieve this dream, we made it a priority to simplify our lifestyle many years prior to this journey.  We left our jobs, sold our cars, got rid of all of our useless crap and have embarked on an indefinite Round the World (RTW) journey.

We will be leaving the safety and security of our home comforts and have made a decision to get on with this world journey.  We have decided to travel now, instead of hoping to be able to do it in the future.  I just could not imagine if we did not do it now and got ill later in life, how I would feel if I missed this chance while we were still young.  We are excited about having the freedom to explore this incredible world, without any time constraints.  We will walk the world and simply see what happens next.

As we face the odd concoction of anxiety and anticipation we feel about leaving life as we know it in Las Vegas, the following quote has become something of a mantra for me:
“There comes a time when one must risk everything or sit forever with ones dreams.”

We purchased one way tickets to Bali and hope to explore all of the SE Asian countries during our first year and as much of the world as possible in subsequent years.  I really have no idea when we will return.
